Our story, from Skopelos to your table!
A Greek Legacy Passed Down Through Generations

Every family has a story and ours begins on the lush, sun-kissed island of Skopelos, where our grandmother, Yiayia Nitsa, learned to cook not from books or trends, but from tradition. Her kitchen was small, simple, warm, and always alive with the scents of simmering tomatoes, fresh herbs, and rich olive oil carried across the Aegean breeze. It was in this kitchen that she mastered the recipes that had been passed down through our family for centuries.

She cooked the way true Greek yiayiades do; by instinct, by memory, and by heart.

There were no measurements.
Only hands.
Only taste.
Only love.

From the winding stone streets of Skopelos to the villages and towns across mainland Greece, our family carried these recipes with them wherever life took them. Every home, every table, every gathering became a place where tradition was honored and food was celebrated.

A Cookbook Written by Hand — And History

Our yiayia kept a notebook, worn, stained, and folded from decades of use, filled with handwritten recipes, ingredient notes, and little stories in the margins. This notebook wasn’t just a collection of dishes; it was our culinary family tree.

She passed that notebook to our mother, who continued the tradition in her own kitchen. With every meal she prepared, she kept those flavors alive; savoring them, refining them, protecting them. From weekend family gatherings to holidays marked by crowded tables and endless laughter, she continued the Greek tradition of feeding not just the stomach, but the soul.

Those recipes became the foundation of our childhood. The smells. The tastes. The sounds. The memories.
Everything centered around the table, just as it does in every Greek home.

From Our Family to Yours

Today, we carry this legacy forward through Yiayia Nitsa, named in honor of the woman who taught us that cooking is more than technique; it is love, heritage, and storytelling.

We follow the same methods that have guided our family for more than 300 years:
-
Slow-simmered sauces
-
Fresh, simple Mediterranean ingredients
-
Handcrafted pastries and oven dishes
-
Generous portions, just like a real Greek home
-
And above all, food prepared with warmth and intention
Our goal is not to reinvent Greek cuisine. It’s to preserve it, honor it, and share it as close to how our grandmother served it.

We cook the way she taught us: the right ingredients, the right time, the right heart.
