Refund Policy

At Yiayia Nitsa, we take pride in preparing fresh, homemade Greek dishes using authentic family recipes. Because all food is prepared to order, our refund and cancellation policy is designed to ensure fairness while respecting the time, ingredients, and labor involved in preparing your meal.

1. Cancellations

Standard Tray Orders

  • Full refunds are available for cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled pickup or delivery time.

  • Cancellations made within 24–48 hours may receive a partial refund, depending on the preparation status.

  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before pickup or delivery are not eligible for a refund.

Large Catering Events

(orders serving 20+ people)

  • Must be canceled at least 72 hours in advance for a full refund.

  • Cancellations within 48–72 hours before the event may receive a partial refund.

  • Cancellations within 48 hours of the event are non-refundable, as ingredients and preparation are already underway.

 

2. Refunds After Pickup or Delivery

Because food is perishable and made fresh to order:

All sales are final once the order has been picked up or delivered.

We do not offer refunds based on:

  • Personal taste preferences

  • Improper handling after pickup/delivery

  • Delays caused by traffic or conditions beyond our control

  • Minor variations in appearance due to the handmade nature of our dishes

However, if there is a quality issue or we made an error with your order, please contact us immediately and we will make it right.

 

3. Order Changes

If you need to modify your order, we will do our best to accommodate changes depending on availability and preparation status.

Order changes:

  • Up to 48 hours before pickup/delivery for standard orders

  • Up to 72 hours before large events

Once preparation begins, changes may not be possible.

 

4. Failed Deliveries

If a delivery attempt fails due to:

  • Incorrect address

  • No one available to receive the order

  • Inability to contact the customer

The order is considered fulfilled and non-refundable.

 

5. Quality Concerns

If you experience an issue with your order:

  • Contact us within 2 hours of delivery or pickup

  • Provide details and, if possible, a photo

We will review the situation and may offer:

  • A partial refund

  • A remake of the dish

  • A credit toward a future order

This is handled case-by-case, with fairness to both the customer and our kitchen.
